“Gotta have heart and soul, like my music does” -Steve 

Steve Wright, 61, long time resident of Beeville; passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Steve was born in Lubbock, Texas to the late Bernie Wright and Jackie Smith Sherman. Steve graduated from Idalou High school, in 1975. He was a proud Navy Veteran, serving 14 years as an AC1. He also held several supervisors positions: Air traffic control tower supervisor, facility watch supervisor at a NATO base and at NAS Chase. After honorably discharging, he later became a welder, pipe fitter, and truck driver. 
Steve was an avid college football fan (“Hook’em Horns”). He loved horses and owned the ‘Wright Arabians’ barn, and would often participate in all things equestrian. Steve loved jammin’ to music (usually while air drummin’), playing pool, fishing, telling stories, and playing good old fashioned practical jokes.

He is Preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Calvin & Vera Wright, Oris & Lessie Smith, Stepmother Bettye Wright and Stepfather Jim Sherman.

Survivors include his Wife; Kathy Jump, of 21 years, Daughters; Jessica (Sean) Glen of Omaha, Nicole (Tony) Deynzer of Ft Collins, Step-children include; Jason (Rhiannon) Jump  of Wheeling, WV, Jereme (Heather) Jump of Cibolo, Jessica (James) Gibson of Beeville, Johnathon (Beth) Jump of Corpus Christi, Siblings; Kim (Joe) Slagle of Albuquerque, Tammy (Roger) Eades of Granbury, Lorrie (Victor) Rodriguez of Idalou, James (Sheryl) Sherman, Trey (Chad) Joplin and one Aunt Willetta Blevins all of Lubbock, 9 grandchildren; including his two loving girls Keiryn and Kailyn Gibson; 12 nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held in Steve’s honor, with full military honors, on Saturday, September 15 from 1-3pm at the VFW located at 1801 S Washington; Beeville, Tx 78102. A potluck is welcomed, while we see some familiar faces, listen to some of his favorite music, and reminisce about the good times. Military Honors will start at 1:30pm.
